The relationship between nocturnal hypoxia and sofa score on critically ill patients at the icu

چکیده
Introduction Apnea test (AT) (ApneaLinkTM, RESMED-Munich, Germany) can be used for different clinical conditions to calculate apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) and nocturnal hypoxia (NH) at intensive care unit (ICU) [1]. It’s shown that obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) and NH is associated post-operative complications, longer length of hospital stay, atrial fibrillation, pulmonary hypertension and nocturnal death [2,3]. NH can lead to tissue hypoxia and thus a higher SOFA score at the ICU admission.

ارتباط میزان پروتئین واکنش سی (CRP) و شاخص توده بدن (BMI) با مدت زمان تهویه مکانیکی در بیماران ترومائی بستری در بخش مراقبت های ویژه
Background and purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the incidence and presence of a relationship between predictors of body mass index (BMI) or C-reactive protein (CRP) and duration of mechanical ventilation, in trauma patients who were admitted to the intensive care unite (ICU). Furthermore, we compared their prognostic significance, with known indicators such as, the Sequential O...

Background: Up to now there is no study evaluating correlation between serum magnesium and morbidity or mortality in patients admitted in intensive care unit. The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of hypomagnesemia in critically ill patients and to evaluate its association with organ dysfunction, hospitalization period and mortality. Methods: We conducted a retrospective trial ...
متن کاملComparing the Scores of Sequential Organ Failure Assessment and a Proposed Bedside Tool in Patients with Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome Admitted to ICU
Background and purpose: Sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA) is used to assess the severity of the disease and mortality rate in patients admitted to ICU. SOFA requires experiments that are impractical in centers with limited resources. The aim of this study was to compare the diagnostic value of bedside SOFA (b SOFA) and SOFA scores in mortality of ICU patients. Materials and methods: ...
متن کاملThe Predictive Prognostic Values of Serum TNF-α in Comparison to SOFA Score Monitoring in Critically Ill Patients
BACKGROUND The use of inflammatory markers to follow up critically ill patients is controversial. The short time frame, the need for frequent and serial measurement of biomarkers, the presence of soluble receptor and their relatively high cost are the major drawbacks. Our study's objective is to compare the prognostic values of serum TNF-α and SOFA score monitoring in critically ill patients. ...
متن کاملInfluence of Daily Fluid Balance prior to Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy on Outcomes in Critically Ill Patients
Positive fluid balance is a risk factor for mortality in critically ill patients, especially those requiring continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). However, the association between daily fluid balance and various organ impairments remains unclear. This study investigated the impacts of daily fluid balance prior to CRRT on organ dysfunction, as well as mortality in critically ill patients....
